Croutons can easily be made rather than bought... I always make them for my Caesar Salad, but it's always great to make a huge batch and keep em kicking around.

These are pretty basic... The cayenne gives them a nice kick.
Ingredients
2 Tablespoon unsalted butter, melted1/3 Cup extra-virgin olive oil
1 loaf bread... any kind, I tend to use baguette. cut into 1 inch cubes
1 Teaspoon salt
1/2 Teaspoon fresh-ground pepper
1/2 Teaspoon cayenne pepper

Directions
- Preheat the oven to 450
- Combine the butter and olive oil in a big bowl, toss in your bread till coated.
- Sprinkle salt and pepper and cayenne, and then spread in a single layer on a baking sheet.
- Bake till golden, about 10 minutes.
