Ingredients

1/2 Cup White Vinegar
1/2 Cup Water
2 Tablespoons Sugar
1/2 Teaspoon Fish Sauce (Optional)
1/2 Teaspoon Chili Paste (Optional)
1/2 Pound Carrots, Shredded
4 Baguettes
1/2 Pound Roast Pork or Ham
1 Cucumber, quartered lengthwise
3 Tablespoons Mayonnaise
Hot Chili Sauce (optional)
Hot Chili Peppers (optional)
1/4 Cup Italian Parsley

Directions

  1. Mix vinegar with water, sugar and, if desired, fish sauce and chili paste.
  2. Marinate carrots in this mixture in refrigerator for at least 6 hours.
  3. Halve the baguettes, slice open and top each with a thin slice of roast pork.
  4. Top with carrots, cucumber and parsley.
  5. Spread mayonnaise and over bread.
  6. Add chili sauce or peppers to taste.
