I believe this recipe came from one of my sisters and found it's way into our life with a few simple tweaks.

Ingredients

1 500ml Whipping Cream 35%
1 175g Cooked Ham Steak
1 350 gram Frozen Baby Green Peas
1 Medium Onion, diced
1 Clove Garlic, cut in half
1 450g package Bowtie Pasta
1 Cup Cheese - Parmesan (Grated)
Sea Salt
Black Pepper, freshly ground
Olive Oil

Directions

  1. Put pasta water on to boil.
  2. Pour whipping cream into a small sauce pan and add the 2 pieces of garlic. Turn the heat to low.
  3. Place frying pan on medium high heat and add olive oil to coat the pan. Add diced onions and cook until transparent. Then add chopped ham and heat through for approximately 5 minutes.
  4. Once pasta water has come to a boil, add some sea salt and the pasta. Cook until pasta is done to your liking.
  5. Remove the 2 pieces of garlic from the cream. Put the peas in the warmed cream and continue to heat on low for a few minutes. Add the ham and onion mixture and 3/4 cup grated cheese. Stir well. Use the balance of the cheese as a garnish when serving.
  6. Drain the pasta well. Place it in a large serving bowl and mix in the green pea, and ham cream sauce. Add grated cheese and black pepper to taste and see how much they love it!
