Recipe Story

This is a really simple recipe that my mother taught me how to make when I was twelve years old. At this time Mom would not be home from work when I got home from school and I always needed something to eat. This was, and still is a quick and healthy snack that you really can't mess up.

Directions

  1. Take two pieces of bread and toast them.
  2. White the bread is toasting, cut your tomato slices and cucumber slices. It's best if they are not too thick.
  3. Pour the olive oil onto the cut slices of tomato and cucumber.
  4. Sprinkle both the salt and the pepper on to the tomato and cucumber slices.
  5. Butter the bread and than place the tomato and cucumber slices on one half of the buttered bread .
  6. Cut up your cheese, if you are using brick cheese. Cheese slices work well too. I often use mustard as well, and be creative with the types of mustard you use.
  7. Take the half of bread with the cheese on it and put it on top of the half of bread with the tomato and cucumber slices on it.
